HOME ALONE:
The house we’ve seen millions of times in the Home Alone series is located in the Illinois suburb of Winnetka on Chicago’s North Shore. There are so many memorable scenes in that movie that features the house, but nothing compares to all of the booby traps young Kevin McCAllister set for the burglars trying to rob him. The lakeside house was built in the 1920s and the film was released in 199o. Here’s a video tour of the house along with its current residents talking about their experience with the movie being filmed in their very n home. It’s currently on the market for $1,950,000 listed by Coldwell Bankers.
UP:
If you haven’t seen Disney /Pixar’s animated movie Up, here’s a little recap. Basically, a man and a boy go on an adventure together by attaching balloons to a house and floating away. It’s a cartoon and this is all impossible, right? Actually, National Geographic set out to make this happen in real life as a part of a new series set to air this fall. There’s even a replica of the house in Herriman, Utah and the asking price for this house is expected to be about $399,000. Here’s a video tour of the Up House.
A CHRISTMAS STORY:
This movie is hard to miss during the holiday season since it’s on television 24/7. Where’s the real house located? Cleveland, Ohio. Some memorable scenes include the neighbor’s dogs ruining Ralphie’s family’s holiday dinner and the irreplaceable home decor that is the leg lamp. You can take a video tour, or you can also go to the house now turned museum since it is open to public tours year round.
A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN:
Here’s another example of a house from a movie now on the market. The house from A League of Their Own is located in Henderson, Kentucky and is going for $799,000. Would you be interested in living in a house where Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, and Geena Davis all lived in while they were on the same baseball team?
